The tour begins in the historic homestead, a beautifully preserved building dating back to 1904. Now the head office of Weleda New Zealand, the homestead offers a glimpse into the past. You will learn about the homestead's history and Weleda's commitment to sustainability and natural health.
Next, the tour continues up the hill to view our working gardens and then onto the Visitor Garden, showcasing a diverse array of plants grown by Weleda. You will be introduced to various herbs, flowers, and medicinal plants, learning about their unique properties and uses in natural medicine. Highlights include medicinal herbs like calendula, chamomile, and echinacea, as well as the plants used in Weleda's skincare products. You will gain a deeper understanding of the connection between nature and holistic health.

Please note: Our paths have stairs and are hilly. All participants on our garden tour must have good fitness and mobility and be able to walk and stand for 60 minutes. Please wear suitable footwear and note that your visit is at your own risk. As gardens are living landscapes, plantings and flowering displays change with the seasons and may differ from those shown in promotional material. Weather conditions may also affect access to some areas. Tours may proceed in light rain, please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Some areas of the garden may not be accessible to wheelchairs or prams due to the terrain. Bees and wildlife are part of the eco system - please take care and avoid disturbing them. No pets are allowed (except service animals.) Please do not pick flowers, fruit or foliage. Smoking and vaping are not permitted in our gardens.
